.8 and .6 are fine, yet no route to .7?

Wookie defence. That does not make sense...

synchronicity - the word for the day

A few days back I took the rubbish, including recyclables, downstairs to dump. The rubbish bins were there, but the recycling bins were not. So I took the lazy option and dumped the plastics/cans/paper etc into the rubbish bins. Oh no!

Guilt set in and I kept thinking about the terrible thing I did. Time passes... I'm reading 'Stupid White Men' by M Moore and I get to the bit where he describes the 'recycling scam', God I feel so much better now :-)

I'm the same age as Unix, Arpanet(Internet) and Apollo 12, all the cool things happened in 1969 ;-)

Tim Bray sounds like he should know what he's talking about.

Seems he's not aware of Instant Messaging, which isn't Store&Forward or Polling, its a real-time connection. Like all those MUDS/MMPORGS etc.

Incompetence, the cornerstone of the internet.

Two instances, nothing really surprising for me, I've been 'conditioned' to expect it.

1) I'm waiting on ADSL, its nearing 20 days now, the extreme end of the bell curve and I'm still not provisioned. Thats Telstra for you, never let a telco monopoly run unchecked.

2) I decided to increase the audience for www.rfidnewsupdate.com, a little site I run using perl/LibXML/LibXSLT. Of course, at the same time my hosting company upgraded their kernel, and broke my perl scripts, coredumps when using LibXML.

This is very interesting, using the betting exchange Betfair to predict the US Presidential election.

Too bad it looks like the AntiHuman is going to get back in.
